A stunnnnnning 11kms coastal walk…
Two of my favourite rockpools in all of Sydney…
A Top 3 Bar / Restaurant (and a cheapie) on the water to finish with a Christmas beer & feed.
Dee Why to Manly Beach is the “Bondi to Coogee of the North”, and I’d argue it’s even better… It’s got less hikers. It’s proper hiking in Dee Why Headland. North Curl Curl / Fairy Bower Rockpools – 2 of the best in Sydney. And lunch at Manly Skiff Club is the quintessential spot on Sydney Harbour for a beer, fish and chips.
And Felon’s (German-style) Beer Hall just opened... we must, right?
Let’s do it.
THE HIKE.
We meet at Woolworth's Dee Why Junction. Quick intro / neighbourhood walk down to Dee Why Beach then head past its stunning rockpool, up into the coastal headland hugging the ocean... descending onto Curl Curl Rockpool (15min stop if keen to swim) & Beach for a 20min beach walk (the Curl Curl Boardwalk is unforgettable)... to Freshwater Beach and Manly Beach - ocean views for every second of this walk that turns and weaves over to Shelly Beach, one of my favourite in Sydney. There's a 15min Nature Reserve we'll skip around, and we'll finish at Manly Skiff Club (1:15pm reservation) – a legendary joint on Sydney Harbour. Oh, and don’t forget your ID – they didn’t even let in the singer Pink. Click HERE for that gossip.
We’ll finish about 230pm? 3pm? No doubt we’ll still be thirsty, so let’s see where the afternoon takes us… Felon’s Beer Hall for a drink, perve.
Days like this are the ones where at Skiff Club, you'll sip while looking over the water and say "My god I love this city."

f) Be fit, healthy. This is a pretty easy hike with some ups / downs and rocky bits as we leave Dee Why - but otherwise safe as can be.
