Damn it. I had this whole event typed out, and I misclicked... and woosh. Gone. Here goes the shorty version of Hornsby's new Quarry Park and Blue Gum Loop Hike!

I've never done the Blue Gum Hike, and it's part of The Great Northern Walk. As I was researching it, TimeOUT Magazine published an article on a new park opening next to it - perfect timing to kill 2 birds with one stone!

If you are keen to join, after you hit "Attend" please join the WHATSAPP GROUP HERE - politely asking that you do, and politely asking that you do not ask me to add you when I don't have your phone number - this baffles me.

THE HIKE.
Let's meet at Hornsby Station... quick train from Central arrives 926am with only 2 stops between - fast! From there we'll start hiking at 935am to that quarry lookout where Stage 1 of a new parkland is now open.

The Blue Gum Loop (6kms, our whole journey is 8kms in total) looks really pretty... a relaxed bushwalk with a fish pool, stone steps, blue gum & red gum trees. Dog friendly. Ascents and descents. A lovely hike that I've not done and keen to try!

And of course... a pub! Greengate Hotel looks pretty cool - not far from Hornsby, and on the way back to the city for a Sunday Roast!

See you then! MJ
