Solo travelling up the coast, I recall a Byron Bay Ranger telling me: "When whaling was outlawed in the 1970s, the population coming up from Antarctica was under 100."

Today? In May 2026? It's over 40,000. Let's hike. Let's perve at some whales. Then? Let's check out Sydney's coolest new cocktail joint with the best Happy Hour prices going...

FIRST... a new rule as we've grown to 6,000 hikers. Team, I'm spending about 1.5hrs a week chasing people down to join the whatsapp group for each hike. New hikers. Regular hikers. I'm very well over it. You must join the whatsapp group if you want to come on hikes - or? Well, you miss out. It's easy: a) Hit the "Attend" button on MeetUp, then b) Come back here, and CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE WHATSAPP GROUP. Thanks! :)

THE HIKE.
Bondi to Coogee is the famous one... sure. But Bondi up to Watson's Bay is quietly gorgeous with equally stunning views. Whale watching tours start in early May - let's hope we're luck to see them. Bondi. Diamond Bay. Vaucluse. Watson's Bay & Hornby Lighthouse... it's perfect whale viewing over this 10kms journey.

THE RAZZ ROOM.
Well, I found it - the best new joint in the CBD with an amazing 4-6pm Happy Hour ("Velvet Hour") - cheap wine, beer, cocktails and "Royale Cheeseburger". 1970s NYC disco vibes... sounds fahkin' fantastic!

After the hike, we'll jump on the Watson's Bay to CBD ferry (10/10 if you're new to the city). You'll have an hour to change (plan wisely) in a Fitness First bathroom or Westfield CBD has a huuuuuge changeroom I know of that's 2 blocks from The Razz Room - easy (we'll discuss in Whatsapp).

Post 6pm? Sheez who knows... let's see where Saturday nite takes us.
This. Will. Be. Funnnnnnn!

See you there. MJ
