#### Week 1 Nov 8th — Understanding Attachment & the Roots of Codependency

Focus: Explore the origins of attachment styles (secure, anxious, avoidant, disorganized) and how early relational experiences shape adult relationship patterns.
Discussion Points:

  • How attachment insecurity manifests as codependency or emotional over-functioning.
  • Why anxious or disorganized attachment often pairs with narcissistic or avoidant partners.
    Modalities:
  • Psychoeducation on attachment theory and trauma bonding.
  • Guided journaling on childhood attachment experiences.
  • Somatic grounding to reconnect with the body’s sense of safety and self.
Goal: Build awareness of how attachment needs drive codependent behavior and begin differentiating self from other.

***

#### Week 2 — Boundaries as Secure Attachment in Action

Focus: Reframing boundaries not as walls but as a sign of earned security and self-trust.
Discussion Points:

  • How anxious attachment fears abandonment while avoidant attachment fears engulfment.
  • Why inconsistent boundaries keep toxic relational cycles alive.
    Modalities:
  • Role-playing boundary-setting in relationships with narcissistic or controlling personalities.
  • IFS-style “parts” dialogue with the inner protector who fears saying no.
  • Group reflection on what “emotional safety” means.
Goal: Develop practical boundary skills as an act of self-love and secure attachment repair.

#### Week 3 — From People-Pleasing to Empowered Attachment

Focus: Moving from anxious, approval-seeking dynamics to self-validation and relational authenticity.
Discussion Points:

  • The link between people-pleasing and anxious attachment.
  • How narcissistic partners exploit the fear of rejection and abandonment.
    Modalities:
  • Inner child work to soothe attachment anxiety.
  • Guided visualization to embody self-worth and power.
  • Expressive art or writing exercises to honor true needs.
Goal: Shift from external validation to internal security, creating the foundation for healthy reciprocity.

#### Week 4 — EXAM DAY!! Tests graded during meeting.

#### Integrating Change: From Trauma Bonds to Interdependence

Focus: Transitioning from codependent or trauma-bonded relationships toward interdependent, emotionally safe connections.
Discussion Points:

  • Recognizing trauma bonds vs. healthy attachment.
  • Building “earned security” through consistent self-attunement and boundaries.
    Modalities:
  • Compassion-focused meditation for self-forgiveness and closure.
  • Partner dialogue practice for mutual empathy and assertive communication.
  • Creation of individualized action plans for ongoing attachment repair.
Goal: Embody relational balance—where love, autonomy, and safety coexist.
Looking forward to sharing stories, strategies, and strength this week. You’re not alone — and you’re more powerful than you think. 💬🧠❤️
