Bring a flash light.
We will start at the Cathedral-front steps, facing Wisconsin Ave, not any of the numerous side doors. Look at the map pin below for exact location. Then walk through the gardens, Dumbarton Oaks, Grover Archibald park, and through neighborhoods, end back at the cathedral.
Distance 7 miles
Duration: about 2 hours
Hikers: I like a brisk pace 3.2-3.5 miles per hour. This NOT a good hike for new or out of shape hikers. Average walking pace for most people is 2- so be prepared.
If you are not a fast hiker you may be left behind.
If you cannot keep up with the group there are several street crossing where you can head back to the starting point.
When: Hike LEAVES at 6:15. Please arrive a few minutes early.
Where to Meet: Cathedral-front steps-center doors.
Parking. There is on street parking all around the Cathedral and public parking in the parking garage under the front garden.
Metro- One mile walk from Cleveland park Metro
Facilities: Rest rooms in garage usually open
Dogs: No
Rain. I hike rain or shine-bring a raincoat of it looks like rain is a possibility.
