Hike @ Turkey Run

Hello fellow hikers,
We'll be starting off December with a road trip to one of the best hiking spots in the state, and we'll plan on doing roughly four to four-and-a-half hours of hiking. The terrain at Turkey Run contains some rugged trails through the creek beds and rocky areas, and we'll try to cover the best parts of the park. Bringing along some water and a snack or two would be a good idea for a long hike like this.

Our usual after-hike dinner will be taking place at the Turkey Run Inn on the grounds of the park, and they offer a buffet that includes a salad bar, ribs, chicken, and the infamous fried biscuits and apple butter. It's $5 for admittance to Turkey Run.

Car Pool Info: Our usual north-side car pool will be meeting along the west side of Broad Ripple High School (1115 Broad Ripple Avenue) in the free parking spots along Compton Street just south of Broad Ripple Avenue. The best places to park are directly beside the high school between Broad Ripple Avenue and 62nd Street. These spots are free on Saturdays and are usually wide open when we meet for the car pool. We'll be leaving at 11am on Saturday. Please be on time and please be prepared with anything you intend to bring. We will no longer be waiting for more than a few minutes for anyone at the car pool spot.

For anyone who would prefer to meet us at the park, we'll assemble in the parking lot at the Nature Center near where the trails begin. Just look for the crowd of us. Please note:
Car pool @ 11am
Hike @ 1pm

FEE UPDATE: Also, I'm not collecting any membership dues whatsoever, so please be aware that no one needs to pay anything for being a member of the group.

See you on Saturday,

I've been on a about 150 hikes in California, and I must say, Turkey Run is in the top 10!!
What a blast... like hiking in an outdoor cave.

Jake and I really enjoyed the hike. It was very nice to meet everyone and to see some familar faces. The food on the buffet at the Inn was awesome. We look forward to another great hike.

Ok, so I just joined this group and it will be my first meet. My partner has decided to join us but there are "no spots left". I was going to carpool but she said she wants to drive too. Do we just show up at the carpool and take people with us?
