Hike @ Harden Lake (Racoon Lake State Recreation Area)

This Saturday we'll be making a short road trip to Harden Lake at the Raccoon State Recreation Area west of Indy, past Avon. We'll plan on doing around two hours on the trails here (not to be confused with Harding Lake in southern Indiana), and we'll cover between 5 and 6 miles.

We'll begin with trail 3 and move on to trail 4, and then take trails 1 and 2 to where we began.

The terrain here is a mix of moderate and easy, with a few steep hills, especially during the second half of the hike.

For anyone who wants to meet us at the park, we'll meet at the parking lot where trail 3 begins. Once you pass through the gate house, you'll drive past the property manager's residence on the right, and eventually some parking lots to the left. When you see the basketball courts on the right, take the next right into the parking lot.
