Yellow Aster Butter:
A spectacular destination easily reached for a day hike trip. Yellow Aster Butte and its tarns create a phenomenal place to spend some time. Amazing views, incredible sunsets, and just the right amount of physical exertion. With views into Canada, fiery colors and sweeping wildflower meadows, the trail to Yellow Aster Butte is one of the most popular in the North Cascades. Located in the Mount Baker Wilderness, the 7.5 mile trail traverses the south-facing slopes of the High Divide. As you climb, you are treated to spectacular wildflowers shows in early autumn. Perfect fall season hike.

Tomyhoi peak:
The hard hike comes into play if you are going to attempt Tomyhoi Peak, which is optional for all who wish a challenge and spend the rest of the day playing in the mountains. The trail up to Tomyhoi sits on the backside of the basin, rising steeply up the side towards the peak crossing small section of ice/snow which requires additional traction for safety, followed by class 3 scramble to the summit.

Our very own Dima and Crew will lead you on this ! Arrive early to park and ride.

Please indicate if you are willing to drive and how many can you fit. Preference to larger vehicles. **Parking Fee or Northwest Forest Pass Needed.

Things to Pack:

Bring hiking shoes, Jacket, warm clothing with layers, extra pair of socks, change of clothes, water, snacks, 2L of water or more.
If you are attempting Tomyhoi: traction is required - combination of ice axe, microspikes or crampons are needed, helmet is highly recommended, headlamp/flashlight is highly recommended, at least additional 1L of water.

See Golden Larches at Lake Ingalls Hard Hike

Eastgate Park & Ride

I'm organizing this hike in lieu of Ptarmigan Ridge, which has added 5.2 miles two-ways due to road closure. If you prefer to meet at Green Lake, please sign up for Krishna's group!

Location: Snoqualmie Region - Salmon La Sac/Teanaway
Mileage: 9 miles roundtrip
Elevation Gain: 2600 feet
Located in the stunning Alpine Lakes Wilderness, Lake Ingalls is undoubtedly a show-stopper in fall! You’ll have chance to see the Esmerelda Peaks, Ingalls Peaks, Fortune Pass, and spy glimpses of the Stuart Range. Not to mention stunning views of Mt. Stuart! This is the perfect lake hike for peak lovers any time of year, but autumn larches add an extra dash of magic.

The hike is magical, where gorgeous larches, headlands and forests are all yours, and the range looks like it did when it was inhabited by the indigenous people who once called it home. You will remember this hike for the rest of your life.

There's no question why Ingalls Lake is one of the most popular destinations in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. It is a stunning blue lake, set high in a basin beneath rocky peaks, showcasing striking Mount Stuart as its backdrop. The trail to this treasure is filled with delights, both for the summer adventurer as well as for those hikers who appreciate fall colors. Views of the craggy Esmeralda Peaks, a walk through beautiful Headlight Basin plus a pretty picture of the imposing Stuart Range are just a few of the wonders along the way.

The hike travels through a number of ecosystems which make this a unique traipse through the Teanaway Valley and into the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.

Things to Pack:

Bring hiking shoes, Jacket, warm clothing with layers, extra pair of socks, change of clothes, water, snacks, etc.

If you plan on being a rider please bring $20 for your driver towards pass, gas, park entrance fees etc.
