A little over a week of hiking and who knows what else around the Moab area. .

This trip is back on, but I have to do it a different way. I'm going to go over to Moab and find us a campsite. There are plenty available, but you can't reserve them. They are first come, first served. When I have a site, I'll add it to this posting.
I have a room in Green River on the 8th. and one in Moab on Friday the 9th. That will give me two days to find a campsite in the Moab area.
Green River was a very popular meeting place during the days of the fur trade 1815-1840. There is a mountain man museum there that should be worth visiting. Green River Rendezvous - Museum of the Mountain Man
If you want to go over there on the 8th or 9th you can probably find reasonably priced lodging in either Green River or Monticello. Both are about an hour from Moab.
I already have the backcountry site for the night of Tuesday, the 13th reserved. It's the hike out to Murphy Point. You can find the description of that hike on this page. Murphy Point Trail (U.S. National Park Service)
