Day hike Staunton State Park- Out rout 285

Don't sign up for this hike if you are going to back out of it at the last minute. That is unfair to other hikers who really want to go.

I am not a fast hiker. If you are looking for a cardio workout, this is not your hike

Directions to the Hampden and Wadsworth PnR. Go south on Wadsworth out of Denver. Go one block South of Hampden. The PnR will be right there on the west side of Wadsworth. Please be there by 8:00 am.

Directions to the trailhead: Take U.S. 285 south out of Denver to Shaffers Crossing, about 6 miles west of Conifer. Turn north onto Elk Creek Road and go 1.5 miles to the park entrance

The hike: We'll do about five miles. There is some elevation gain in that area.

The visitor's center is worth looking around in. There are restrooms at the trailhead.
Well behaved dogs OK on a leash. No Pitbulls
