MIDWEEK HIKE Day hike Lower Cataract Loop Trail. (North of Silverthorne)

Directions to the I-70 and Woolly Mammoth PnR: Going west out I-70 take exit 259. Drive straight at the stop light. Don’t follow the road around to the right. If the light is green, turn to the right. If the light is red, turn to the right after it turns green. After turning, get into the left turn lane. Turn left and go up the hill. We’ll meet under the LL sign. Please be there at 8:00 am
Directions to the hike: From I-70 take Exit 205, Silverthorne/Dillon, and travel north on HWY 9. Travel 16 miles north on HWY 9. Just after mile marker 118 turn left onto Heeney Road (County Rd 30). Follow Heeney Road for 5.3 miles and turn left onto Cataract Creek Road (FDR 1725). Continue for 2.5 miles to the Lower Cataract Trailhead and parking area at the end of the road. Please do not block the gate.
The hike: This is a loop hike around a lake. I have not done it. I'm told it is really beautiful. It's about 3 miles. If it's too short, there are other trails close by we can do part of. I'm guessing we will get to the trailhead about 9:30 am
Well behaved dogs are allowed. No Pitbulls.
