Hi All,

This is a good fall hike to see wildlife and close to town. See you there.

Cheers,

Deer Creek Canyon Park off C-470

Sunday October 07 - TIME: 9am

RSVP now at: http://hiking.meetup....

Distance: 4 to 7 miles
Elevation Gain: 600 to 800 feet. Steep incline at the beginning.
Description: Moderate

We'll probably start on Meadowlark trail and then decide on your next trail at the juncture of Plymouth. At this point, those wanting only an easy hike could head back to the lot, and those wanting to go a bit further can head up the mountian. There's Red Eagle or all the way around Plymouth Mountain which makes about 7 miles total with Meadowlark.

Bring a camera. Usually lots of songbirds, and hawks soaring overhead. Jesse James used to hang out here in the canyon for a hideout. The red and white rock formations along the trail are pretty cool.

Getting There
From the Denver area, travel south on C-470 to Kipling exit. If your coming from I-70 West, then take C470 East to Kipling Ave. Exit and go South on Kipling.

Turn west, (RIGHT) on W. Ute Avenue, you'll go on S Owens for a bit. Then west (RIGHT) on Deer Creek Canyon Road. Go all the way to Grizzly Drive. Turn left on Grizzly Drive, then turn RIGHT into the Park.
