We’ll meet inside London Paddington Station, just outside the main ticket office where train tickets are sold. Look for me holding a sign or wearing [distinct clothing]. Please arrive by [Insert Time] to ensure we have time to organize tickets and group railcards for discounted travel.

Itinerary:

1. Train Journey:
Depart from London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads or Weston-super-Mare. The train journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

2. Travel to Cheddar Gorge:

From the train station, we’ll take a local bus (e.g., First Bus 376) or shared taxis to Cheddar village, where the hike begins.

3. The 10-Mile Hike:

Start with a steep climb to the ridge for breathtaking views of the gorge.
Follow the full circular trail that takes you along cliff edges, across fields, and into peaceful wooded areas.
Pause at scenic viewpoints for photos and enjoy the tranquility of nature.
Break for a packed lunch midway, surrounded by stunning views.

As we trek through this beautiful landscape, we’ll pause for a moment to enjoy a packed lunch—a great time to take in the peaceful surroundings and relax by the coast. A pub lunch is an option at around 4:00 or 5.00 PM but not guaranteed.

Exploration Time:

Don’t forget your camera—the views here are nothing short of spectacular!

Return to London:
After a full day of hiking and sightseeing, we’ll board the coach for the return journey, aiming to arrive back in London before 10 PM. Traffic depending.
The trip back will offer a perfect opportunity to reflect on the unforgettable landscapes and peaceful moments we’ve experienced.

MODERATE DIFFICULTY Steep in some areas. 2 areas are steep but good path is available.

Also bring cash for refreshments at the pub or cafe after the event. Aim to be back in London by 9.30 or 10 PM approximately. Traffic depending.

Your Host Is First Aid Trained.

Food:

Bring your own food and water with you. . Packed lunches. Pub food available at 4 PM or 5 PM.

Chance of getting pub food at 4 or 5 pm is very good.

There is a PUB FOOD option after the Hike for you to socialise and relax. But I give no guarantees. So definitely bring your own food and water with you as a precaution. However the coach will depart by 6.00 or 7.00 pm to reach London by 9:30 PM. Traffic depending.

Bring your packed lunches with you. Lunch will be at 1.30 pm or 2.00 pm at the top of the hill. Where you can enjoy spectacular scenery.

Waterproof shoes for the hike, preferably hiking shoes. Dress appropriately for the weather forecast. Will be slightly wet and muddy in some areas. So bring the right shoes.

Our trips will not be cancelled due to weather conditions so please ensure that you do wear and carry appropriate clothing for the weather forecast. A raincoat is advised. It will not rain all day.

We might get 30 minutes of rain. Volume of rainfall expected is more important than probability of rainfall.

100% probability of rainfall doesn't mean it will be raining all day. We Might get less than 30 minutes of rainfall then it stops. But if heavy rainfall is predicted then of course we may cancel or reschedule the event.
