🥾 Saturday Hike: Moderate | ~11 km / 7 miles
🥾 Optional Sunday Hike: Easy–Moderate | ~14 km / 9 miles
💷 Guide Fee: £10 (Saturday) | £10 (Sunday) – pay on the day
📅 Overnight Option: Local YHA Hostel (optional)
Food is not included on this trip. You are responsible for bringing your own food or sorting out your own food. We can go to a pub in the afternoon for a late lunch at 4 pm or 4:30 pm after the hike. Bring plenty of snacks and water with you to stay well hydrated.
The car journey from London to the Peak District where we start the Hike is approximately 3 hours and 10 minutes traffic depending. From other cities such as Manchester and Liverpool the drive is much Shorter.

🌟 ABOUT THIS HIKE
Join us for a stunning Peak District adventure exploring one of the area’s most iconic landmarks — Thor’s Cave — combined with beautiful riverside walking, limestone scenery, rolling hills, and classic White Peak countryside.
This is a proper adventure hike but at a comfortable, sociable pace, with plenty of stops for photos, views, and enjoying the landscape together 📸😊
Whether you come just for Saturday, or make it a full hiking weekend, this is a fantastic way to experience the Peak District with like-minded people.
🥾 SATURDAY HIKE DETAILS – THOR’S CAVE CIRCULAR
✨ Distance: ~11 km / 7 miles
✨ Difficulty: Moderate
✨ Time: ~3.5–4 hours (including stops)
✨ Terrain:
Steep ascent to Thor’s Cave
Riverside walking along Manifold Valley
Rolling countryside & limestone paths
⚠️ Some short sections can be muddy and slippery, especially near the cave — good waterproof hiking boots are an absolute must.

🧭 SUNDAY OPTIONAL HIKE (FOR OVERNIGHT STAYERS)
If you choose to stay overnight, we’ll do a second scenic circular hike on Sunday morning:
🥾 Distance: ~14 km / 9 miles
🥾 Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
🌄 Style: Relaxed Peak District countryside walk
🕘 Start: Early Sunday morning
🚗 Return to London: Depart around 5:30 pm, arriving 8:30–9:00 pm (traffic dependent)
👉 Sunday hike guide fee: £10 (paid on the day)
🚗 TRANSPORT – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
🚫 Public transport for this hike is complicated and honestly not worth the hassle.
✅ Car pooling is the best, cheapest, and fastest option.
🚙 CAR POOLING EXPLAINED
Some members will be driving their own cars
Drivers will be coming from London, Manchester, Liverpool, and other cities
If you don’t have a car, contact the organiser and we’ll match you with a driver
Drivers will charge a petrol contribution (varies per car size & distance)
Even with petrol contributions, car pooling works out much cheaper than trains + taxis

There is an option to stay one night at a nearby YHA hostel for those wanting to join the Sunday hike.

Your Hostel Accommodation is only for one night and that is for Saturday night and cost is £25 per bed.
The organiser himself will be staying at a nearby YHA on Saturday night so we can start early on Sunday morning 🌅
