Powder Valley Conservation (walking paths .5-3 mi and nature center)

Details
Hi, everyone! My name is Catherine and I will be hosting this event (not Kathy). I will have a 9 month old in tow and look forward to meeting you all!
We will start with a walk on one (or more) of the short trails stemming from the parking lot before checking out the Nature Center (indoors). The trails are all paved and wheelchair accessible, so strollers are a great choice for those with kiddos who are not able to traverse the trails unassisted. If weather does not allow for an outdoor walk, I will NOT cancel this event (assuming safe travel conditions) - we can still enjoy the exhibits, aquarium, etc in the Nature Center.
"Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center is an educational nature oasis in the middle of Kirkwood. It is nestled within 112 acres of oak hickory forest in a quiet corner of a busy urban world. The area has three trails, all of them paved, and one that offers interpretive signage and is disabled accessible. Powder Valley has something for nature lovers both indoors and out, and for all seasons. The nature center, gift shop, and innovative educational exhibits, including an aquarium and bee hive, offer something year round. MDC naturalists conduct regular programs to help those of every age discover the wonders of nature."
*Unsure if the indoor areas require mask wearing at this time. Please be prepared to wear one if venturing into the Nature Center.
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR:
- Water,
- 'Walking' shoes - no need for hiking shoes/boots here as all trails are paved.
- Dress for the weather - thin layers are ideal to be able to remove as necessary.
- Snacks for the kiddos, for yourself, whatever makes you happy.
WHERE & WHEN TO MEET:
- Park in the Nature Center lot.
- Gather at the Tanglevine/Hickory Ridge trailhead at 11:00. Map pin denotes this location. We will start walking on time at 11:10. If inclement weather, we will meet inside the Nature Center.
RULES OF THE TRAIL
**All of our hikes and activities are for parents/guardians and their kids.**
- When the lead hiker comes to a junction, they should stop and wait for the rest of the group before proceeding.
- Take only pictures, leave only footprints.
- Do not give snacks/drinks to a child that is not your own without permission from their parent/guardian.
ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS? SUGGESTIONS?
Post a message in this event or send me a private message. Whichever you feel is most appropriate.
I am always open to ideas or 'votes' for new trails, hike lengths, slower/faster paces, etc. :)
