2. ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2024 AT 10AM, go to the Old Rag Day-Use Ticket site and log-in here: [Old Rag Day-Use Ticket, Old Rag Mountain Tickets - Recreation.gov](https://www.recreation.gov/ticket/10088450/ticket/10088451) to purchase your day-use ticket (don’t delay – tickets go fast) (that's when the next bunch of tickets will be released - repeat, they go fast)
3. We recommend getting a hotel room nearby for the night before the hike (and perhaps after the hike). I will have a reservation the night before the hike (Friday night 11/8/24) at: Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Culpeper at 885 Willis Ln, Culpeper, VA 22701. Phone is (540) 829-0330. 4. To park at Old Rag Mountain on the day of the hike, you will also need a standard parking pass, available here: standard parking pass for Old Rag Mountain

Hike info: Saturday, November 9 at 8:30am. This is a very difficult, full day hike. We start at 8:30am and it will take until at least 5pm, maybe longer, including lunch. This is a long, steep, difficult hike with beautiful views at the summit. Highly recommend staying in lodging nearby on the night before the hike and on the night after the hike. Meet at 8:30am at the Old Rag Mountain Ranger Station at: 2577 Nethers Road, Etlan, VA 22719.

Note: you must purchase a day-use pass to the hike from the National Park Service. See here. Bring your own lunch, beverages and first aid kit. All are welcome: men and women, young and old (anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult family member). Not for beginners; this is a very physically-challenging hike.
