Tired of spending your working life in front of a computer screen at home or for work!
Why don’t you go out, exploring the countryside, the wilderness, the hills and mountains, breath the fresh air and learn a new skill like mountain skills and enjoy life away from everyday commitments.
During the past few years and especially since covid, I had lots of customers from the IT sector especially who have decided to break away from their everyday life and decided to (in some extreme cases) do a U turn in their career like, nurses and teachers among other professional jobs.

At Mountain Adventures 74, we organise Mountain Skill courses, guided hikes all over Ireland and the UK.

About the MS1 Mountain Skills Syllabus.
Day 1
Indoor Session from 9 h to 12h30 ( to be confirmed but, arrive 15 minutes before)
Presentation of instructor, Mountaineering Ireland and the mountain skills scheme.
Introduction to Maps
Map scales
Land Features
Contour Lines
Ground and Mountain Features
Navigation legs
Simple Navigation techniques
Estimation: direction and distance and the 5 d’s
Setting / orientating the map
Introduction to the compass
Mountain hazards: climatic, topographic, human
Outdoor session = practice from 13h30 to 17h .
Day 2
Indoor Session from 9h30 to 12h30. (to be confirmed but, arrive 15 minutes before)

The course location provide for: Camping facilities, toilets and showers.
