What we’re about
This is a good way to meet new people, exercise, enjoy nature, explore new terrain, see animals and acclimate to elevation gains.
Now that we have extra daylight and the temps are on the upswing, we are starting a new weekly series that combines a little bit of nature and a little bit of city scape. Most Tuesday evenings, we will be hosting a Capitol Hill to Memory Grove walk. The route is about three miles. We will start on the southeast side of the Capitol. Meet at the trailhead kiosk that overlooks Memory Grove. This will be a social outing and a great opportunity to meet new people. The best part is that there are no cars along this route. You may walk as slow or as fast as you want. Dogs and strollers are welcome. Bikers may join at the beginning and leave us in the dust. :)
Depending on group preference this week, and as the spring/summer goes on, we will extend the track a little up City Creek Canyon or into the Capitol or Avenues areas. We may even add more socializing and food afterwards. But, for now, here is a partial link to the route:

Update: Tickets for the semi-finals and finals are sold out.
The world's best sport climbers are coming to Salt Lake City in May 2025! Each year the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) hosts a World Cup where athletes compete in various indoor-style rock climbing challenges. This year, Salt Lake City will host one of the bouldering competitions in May 2025.
Bouldering is considered by some to be one of the purest forms of climbing, where no harness, rope, or other equipment is used. It's just you and your skill versus the wall.
Ticket are available from USA Climbing through EventBrite. Remember: You must purchase your own tickets to attend! Each day requires a separate ticket.
Update: The event schedule has been posted! Here is a summary:
Friday, May 23:- 9:00am Women's Qualification
- 3:30pm Men's Qualification
Saturday, May 24:
- 10:00am Women's Semi-Final
- 5:00pm Women's Final
Sunday, May 25:
- 10:00am Men's Semi-Final
- 5:00pm Men's Boulder Final
Doors open one hour prior to each event. Plan on being in line at the ticket booth when the doors open. Last year this was a sold-out event and the grandstands filled up quickly. We'll try to stick together as best we can and sit together if possible.
There's a few hours between events. We may decide to fill that time with nearby activities. Two climbing gyms are close by: The Bouldering Project and The Front. There are also several restaurants and breweries within walking distance.
- Jordan River Kayak/Paddle: JRT Trailhead to Camp Williams Dam & Part ReturnJRT trailhead, Saratoga Springs, UT
Come celebrate Memorial Day by joining us for a paddle or kayak on the Jordan River. We will be putting boats/paddleboards in at the JRT Trailhead in Saratoga Springs, just north of the north end of Utah Lake. We will then float/light paddle down the River to Camp Williams Dam. Thereafter, we will paddle back upstream to our takeout point at 1500 North in Lehi. Total distance will be around 13 miles. The upstream paddle portion will be about 4 miles.
For those not wishing to paddle upstream, you can always take out as we float past 1500 North (this is about 5 miles from the put in location). Please, though, note such when signing up, so I can account for such when planning the shuttles.
Speaking of which, to make this event happen, we will need to shuttle cars between our put in and take out spots. When signing up, please note if you have racks/towers for a second kayak/can transport your kayak and one other kayak. Your answers will help determine how many people can join this event. Once I have that information, I will post a car/kayak shuttle plan. This may require that some people arrive at noon to help with boat drop off and the shuttling.
Water conditions will be flatwater. High temp around 80, with sunny skies and light winds between 5 and 8 mph, starting out of the SE and turning to out of the NE (we can hope for wind assist both downstream and upstream can't we).
Please make sure to complete the DWR 2025 Muscle Aware-Boater Program Course and have the necessary certificate form with you while on the water: Requirements for non-motorized vessels | Aquatic Invasive Species in Utah
Finally, to participate in this event, you must bring a lifejacket and wear it at all times while on the river.
- Bouldering at Lehi MomentumMomentum Indoor Climbing Lehi, Lehi, UT
Welcome fellow climbers! We will be climbing at the Lehi Momentum Wednesday night. People of all ages, abilities, and genders are welcome to join us.
If it is your first time you must fill out a waiver before climbing. You can do that online. Here is the link for first time visitor information:

You will need to bring or rent climbing shoes. Chalk bag recommended.
We will be climbing pretty much until close. We may go for some food afterwards. I'll reach out on the meet up group chat letting you know what part of the gym we are in and what I am wearing. Reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
