Join us for a scenic outdoor hike at Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis! We’ll be exploring the 5.4-mile paved loop trail that winds through peaceful woodlands and along the beautiful South River. This mostly flat, easy trail is great for walkers of all levels and offers a relaxing way to connect with nature.

Bring your water, comfortable shoes, and a spirit of adventure! The trail is accessible and stroller-friendly, making it perfect for a morning escape.

### How to Find the Quiet Waters Park Loop Trail and Walk It

1. Arrive and Park:

  • Head to the main entrance of Quiet Waters Park at 600 Quiet Waters Park Road, Annapolis, MD 21403.
  • Park in the large lot near the Blue Heron Center (the visitor center and main hub). This lot gives you easy access to the trailhead.

2. Locate the Trailhead:

  • From the parking lot, look for signs pointing to the Quiet Waters Park Loop Trail or simply follow the paved pathways heading toward the wooded areas and along the river.
  • The trail is well-marked with signs and maps at various points, so you won’t get lost.

3. Starting the Loop:

  • The loop is a continuous paved path about 5.4 miles long that circles through scenic woods and along the South River shoreline.
  • Start the loop by heading counterclockwise, which takes you through shaded forest areas first before opening up to river views.

4. What to Expect Along the Way:

  • You’ll pass peaceful wooded sections, benches, picnic spots, and overlooks with beautiful river views.
  • There are also smaller side trails like the Harness Creek Trail if you want to explore shorter routes.

5. Completing the Loop:

  • Keep following the trail until you return to your starting point near the parking lot and Blue Heron Center.
  • If you want, stop by the visitor center or picnic areas to relax afterward.

  • Wear comfortable shoes as the trail is paved but fairly long.
  • Take your time to enjoy nature and the scenic river overlooks.
