Hot springs are everywhere in Jiaoxi!!

The Town of Jiaoxi is located on Taiwan's east coast in Yilan County just a 1 hour bus ride from Taipei City.Jiaoxi is truly a hot spring town as there are free hot foot pools peppered throughout the entire town for visitors to soak in at any moment. The water is warm and the minerals seep through your skin and put you in a state of relaxation. Many hotels will allow you to buy a ticket to use the hot springs for the day. Tickets can range from 250NT to 300Nt.

聖母峰 五峰旗瀑布
A circular white church constructed on a mountain by hiking pilgrims. Sacred mother Peak makes for a very fine and fairly straight forward hike through some beautiful countryside. It's quite a good workout, as there's over 700 meters of vertical climb from the trail head to the top, but it's along a well constructed path, so the going isn't too difficult, and it's impossible to get lost. At the summit is a large concrete platform reached by a steep flight of steps, which climb past metal plaques representing fourteen stations of the cross. The view from here on a fine day is magnificent; the coastal hills, the pancake-flat Lanyang Plain, the Pacific Ocean and even Turtle Island all lie spread out below. It's slightly surreal place, and definitely a one-off, in Taiwan at least.

Wufengchi Waterfalls: Plunging a combined total of one hundred meters, the three Wufengchi Waterfalls are one of Yilian Country's star attractions. The first(lowest) fall is quite small, but just above it, the second fall makes an impressive plunge of 25 meters, and the third one plunge 40 meters surrounded by an amphitheater of sheer cliffs, is quite spectacular, and probably the most impressive sight on the whole hike.
