Whangaparaoa peninsula explore

Details

On Sunday we are going to Whangaparaoa Peninsula to walk a loop from Gulf Harbour to Big Manly and then along the coast to Army Bay where we will explore a bit of Shakespear Regional Park before returning to Gulf Harbour. Highlights include beautiful rocky coast and beaches, waterfall, native bush, farmland and some suburban streets.
There are some proper costal rock sections on this hike,

Duration: Approximately 5.5 hours (including stops)
Distance: Approximately 17km
Difficulty: Graded about 3 on our 1-5 scale for day hikes.
Speed: medium

● Important Notes:
The coastal section will be tricky for people new to hiking and feel more like a 3.5 grade!
We will be walking at a medium pace. This means those who are faster get to explore more rockpools and those who are slower have less time for diversions!
Coastal rocks can be slippery!
