Orewa - Forest and Beach

Greetings Everyone -
On Saturday, we are going to Orewa, one of Auckland’s beautiful beach towns. We will be walking a loop track that takes us through forest, urban areas, and along the beach. After the walk, we are planning to relax at a local favourite craft brewery bar (optional.)
Although the path is generally easy, please note that some sections may be muddy and slippery after the week of rain.

Duration: About 3.5 hours hike including stops
Distance: Approx 11-12 km
Difficulty: 2.0 on our 1-5 scale for day hikes
Speed: Medium
Low tide: 2:32PM

● Cost: - $10 for car poolers

• 09:15 - Good time to arrive at New World
• 09:30 - Car pooling arranged and leave

• 10:10 - Start hike
• 13:20 - Finish hike (approx)
• 13:30 - Optional refreshment @ Bites & Brews (342 Hibiscus Coast Highway)
• 14:30 - Arrive back in Auckland (approx)

• Day pack
• Lunch and drink
• Clothing suitable for the season
• Sun and emergency rain protection
• First-aid items
• Plastic bag and extra footwear for after the hike (essential if you are a carpool passenger)
