Information session for a 10-12 days trip to Machu Picchu, Peru - May’2026.

A Zoom -based information session on Aug 17 at 7PM to plan a 10-12 day Peru trip in May’2026 to see the majestic Machu Picchu, hike the full Inca or Salcantay Trail, see Cusco and the Sacred Valley with an added option to hike to the Rainbow Mountain and Humantay Lake! Zoom details will be provided to those who subscribe for the event.

Approximate Itinerary – 10-12 days.
Proposed Dates: from May 8 to May 19 or 20.

At least 2 participants needed to book the tour by 15-September-2025:

• 2-3 days in Lima (1st day: day of flight and arrival in Lima, 2nd day - explore Lima, 3rd day – fly to Cusco)

• 2 days in Cusco to acclimatize to the altitude

o ½ day walking tour of Cusco
o Sacred Valley of the Incas day trip
· 4-6 days – Hike the Inca or Salcantay Trail

• Option 1: 4 days Inca Trail: Inca Trail to Machu Picchu 4 Day Hike | #1 Tour Operator in Peru - $795,

• Option 2: 5 days Inca Trail – just at a little more relaxed pace: 5-Day Inca Trail Hike To Machu Picchu in 5 Days | #1 Peru Treks- $950

• Option 3: if no permits available for the Inca Trail: 5 days: Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu, World's Best Trekking Starts Here - $650

• 1 day - Optional: extra day in Cusco to hike to Humantay Lake or to Rainbow Mountain

• 1 day: travel day back home

The cost of the air fare to/from Peru, hotel in Lima, hotel in Cusco prior to/post the start of the Alpaca Expeditions Tour, food, travel insurance, airport transfers are not included in the above estimates. The above estimates are taken from the Alpaca Expedition web page.

This is a vigorous difficulty adventure. Participants must be prepared to hike at high altitude. For those who prefer a shorter trip, Lima and an extra hike in Cusco can be skipped.

Everyone is responsible for their air fare to /from Peru and hotel/tours/ food/travel insurance/gratuities in Lima and all expenses not covered by the Alpaca Expeditions tour (see details on their website). Please note, Alpaca Expeditions is charging a $400 non-refundable Inca Trail Permit as a part of cost of the hike.
I am a licensed travel agent and am happy to assist with arranging hotels, transfers, and tours of your choice or for us as a group. You are not required to use my service to participate in the trip! I am not acting as a tour guide; we each are accountable for our own arrangements. I will not collect any payments- all payments will be made directly to Alpaca expeditions or hotels/tour operators.
