Sand Pond Campground Halloween Campout
Details
The Panhandle Chapter of the Florida Trail Association is holding a Halloween Party weekend Campout at the Sand Pond Campground. The party will be on Friday night 31 October and held in the Youth Pavilion of the Sand Pond Campground.
The group campsite has been reserved through Sunday and space is available for approx.20 campers. All who wish to camp the weekend are responsible for providing their own camping gear and meals.
Festivities for Friday night will be:
4PM with beautyberry jamming and/or Jellying
5PM Movie: Nightmare Before Christmas
7PM Spider Hunt around the trails and grounds of the campground (make sure to bring flashlights or headlamps to help spot the multi legged horrors)
8PM Movie: Rocky Horror Picture Show
Bring your favorite snacks or Halloween treats to share. Popcorn will be provided.
Costumes are encouraged with applause and cheers for best.
Both movies are familiar to most of us and are musicals so singing along and participating in the shows are welcomed.
Beauty Berry Jelly Making Class!
Learn how to turn beautiful beauty berries into a delicious homemade jelly. Starting at 4PM Friday at the pavilion
๐ Please note: There will be a separate sign-in sheet for this class, as supplies will need to be purchased ahead of time
On Saturday other activities will be arranged and led by others depending on the number of people attending and the weather. Possible activities are trail maintenance sessions in the morning, a visit to the Econfina Springs if the weather is warm enough, a trip on the local airboat ride excursions, and hiking and biking the park trails are always available for those who wish.
