Volunteers to support the New Year's Day Econfina Thru-Hike

Come join the Panhandle Chapter in supporting Kathy Brust and her intrepid hikers taking on the 19.3 mile one-day challenge hike at the Econfina section of the Florida National Scenic Trail. We are also expecting to have half length hikers either finishing at Walsingham Bridge, or starting there and finishing at the Lone Oak (Route 20) trailhead.

We are looking for people to help with staging water the day before, posting signs at the entrance, setting up a food station at Walsingham Bridge trailhead for lunch, shuttling hikers to their cars, monitoring progress at check points, being available to support in the event of an emergency. If you are interested in any of these functions please sign up. We will get you placed in the work area you wish to help with. You do not have to support all day or both days.
