Pine Log State Forest from Hwy 20 Access (East) to Cowford Landing (9.7 mi)
Continuing our hike of the Panhandle region of the FNST through the eyes of a thru-hiker, we are attempting to cover our entire region, including the road sections on this series, culminating with an all day New Year's Hike on the Upper Econfina section. For Hike # 2, we will meet at Cowford Landing on Hwy 20, then carpool to the Hwy 20 access on the East side of Pine Log State Forest. Our hike will begin with the group from the weekend Cobwebs and Campfires Campout, continuing on past their conclusion at the campground loop to Hwy 20 on the West side, then alongside the hwy for a short distance to Cowford Landing. This hike is about 7 miles trail and 2.5 miles road. Please wear sturdy shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, hat, sunglasses, bring plenty of water, electrolytes, snacks and lunch. Please also hydrate & nourish BEFORE the hike. We may see some pitcher plants and other cool wildlife. Hopefully not snakes, but you know they are out there! No pets allowed for this series. The adventure continues, and the best is yet to come!!
