Stevens Creek Nature Preserve – Mint Hill

Details
It’s been a busy summer, but it’s time for me to hike again. This Sunday should be partly sunny with a high of 79, so let’s get outdoors and enjoy the weather.
In nearby Mint Hill, Stevens Creek Nature Preserve has an easy 4 miles of completely natural trails through a canopy of woods, with little elevation change and practically no tree roots. The first part takes us up a bluff overlooking Stevens Creek as it twists and turns meandering along. The trail has two connecting loops, almost like a figure eight. We will do both. Near the halfway point we pass a farm with a big open meadow with beautiful horses. Hopefully they’ll be out.
With attending this hike you agree to participate at your own risk and Charlotte Piedmont Hiking Club and its leaders will not be liable for any injuries or mishaps.
There are restrooms at the nature center and a Port-a-potty in the parking lot.
Bring water and wear good hiking or walking shoes. Dogs on 6-foot leash welcome! Please bring a scoop bag.

We will meet outside the nature center.
