Hanging Rock - Five Peaks

Come join us for an almost ten mile hike at Hanging Rock!

This trail is challenging and consists of 5 different peaks. Some of the trails can be narrow,steep, primitive with sections of stairs. 9.8 miles with 1912 elevation gain.
The route for this trail is considered Strenuous based on Shenandoah's Hiking Difficulty Formula with a Numerical Rating of 193. Please, only sign up if you are an experienced hiker. According to the SHD Formula, the Strenuous hike will challenge most hikers. The hike will generally be longer and steeper, but may be deemed "Strenuous" because of the elevation gain. Generally 7 to 10 miles.

We plan to depart from the trailhead at 9AM.

Parking
There is parking through the park and at our meetup spot. parking has historically not been an issue.
