Hope all of were able to get outside and enjoy the winter wonderland!
Sunday promises to be partly sunny with a high of 45 (At least there won’t be a snowstorm!)

While the ground is saturated let’s walk on a totally paved greenway. The new greenway parking lot on highway 51 is huge, and the new trail segment is a mile long between highway 51 and Johnston Rd. It has the longest paved ‘boardwalk’ I’ve seen in Charlotte. It is literally ½ mile long. The walkway is wide and the views of the boggy landscape look other-worldly (but so nice to have it right here.)

We will add another couple of miles from the existing greenway for a total of around 4 miles. This walk is a linear trail, so we will walk out and return the way we came. It is considered easy with no elevation change.

Bring water and wear good walking shoes. Dogs on 6’ leash welcome on this walk. There are restrooms at the Johnston Rd lot, one mile into our walk. If needed we will take a 5 minute break there.

With attending this event you agree to participate at your own risk and Charlotte Piedmont Hiking Club and its leaders will not be liable for any injuries or mishaps.

We will meet at the trailhead. Hope to see you there!
