Riverwalk Trail in Rock Hill
Details
After the welcome rain this week join me on a completely paved trail (to avoid possible mud.) Saturday afternoon promises to have abundant sunshine and be around 67, so let’s get outdoors!
Also known as Piedmont Medical Center Trail this trail is part of the 15-county network of the Carolina Thread Trail. This portion in Rock Hill SC is along the banks of the beautiful Catawba River. I consider it easy and features flat areas, with some up and down hills, all through woods and along the river.
We’ll head 2.25 miles north, go through a covered bridge under the Norfolk Southern train trestle, walk along the river, take a short break at the amphitheater, and turn around near the Pump House. This is an out and back walk/hike for a total of 4.5 miles round trip.
With attending this event you agree to participate at your own risk and Charlotte Piedmont Hiking Club and its leaders will not be liable for any injuries or mishaps.
Dogs on 3-foot leash welcome! (Yes, 3 foot per this park’s rules). Please be prepared with a bag to clean up after your dog if needed.
Bring water and wear good walking shoes.
There are restrooms in the parking lot.
Please Note the address is NOT at the pumphouse. This lot has over 50 parking spots.
