Baby Boomer NF Moderate Lollipop Hike Above Idyllwild

So let me first introduce myself. Kathryn and I came up with the idea of starting this Meetup hiking club on Thanksgiving morning 2010, after hiking Skyline the day before. After retiring from teaching in 2015, I moved to Idyllwild, and now mostly hike alone...partly due to the Covid shutdown. During those years, I discovered and have enjoyed countless miles of mostly unknown NF trails between Idyllwild and Pine Cove. They were unauthorized trails created decades ago by mountain bikers, and I would now like to share them with other Boomer hikers! So this lollipop hike will be about seven miles with about 1000 feet of gain. I hike at a moderate pace, enjoying the journey and exercise rather than the destination. If you are a post Boomer jack rabbit, this may not be the right hike for you. I know...I was once a jack rabbit myself! We will meet at my cabin at 8:30 and start at 8:45. Bring lunch and a beverage for a Post Hike Celebration at my cabin about 12:30. No dogs or plus ones, please. Just ask them to join the Club.
