Hosted by Urban Hiking & Dining
Details
I am attending this event that is cross-posted with Fun Hiking & Adventure Group and Women 40' to 60's of Seattle.
Kay will be running the event. It is a drop-in drop-out event :-)
I plan to join in the lesson from 6-7pm and then (if I don't feel like a total klutz) dance from 7-9pm.
Details from Kay:
Enjoy the summer weather and a beautiful setting and sunset by the water on the steps of the MOHAI on Lake Union. We'll have a free lesson for beginners, followed by a social dance with a DJ. You can learn, dance, or just enjoy the music and socializing. Seattle Kizomba community is very welcoming. No partner is needed, and you will meet many friendly people open to showing us the ropes.
Kizomba is an extremely beautiful and sensual dance which conquered the world in recent years with its catchy melodies and a dance which seduces our souls. Kizomba is perfect for anyone who wants to enter the world of dance due to its softness and easy basic steps. It allows any beginner to start enjoying the pleasure of social dancing much earlier than any other type of pair dance.
Kizomba is a dance that allows the pair to play to the music and explore their connection on the dance floor. It is a slow dance, focused not on specific moves, but on the connection between the lead and the follow. It can be danced closely, requiring great leading/following skills, or be a more open dance with faster steps, footwork and tricks. In both cases, dancing Kizomba provides a warm and unique experience that feels like being cuddled in a cozy blanket.
Come experience this unique part of summers in Seattle - dancing Kizomba on the waterfront.
