### 🧭 What This Module Covers:

If you’re preparing for serious mountaineering — where rope, wedges, crampons, and fall risk are part of the equation — this is your foundational class.
This session focuses on understanding the mountain itself before attempting technical climbs or placing any gear.

📍This Is A Private Club Training Anchor – Not an RSVP Event 🛑 Not a public event. DM for access if aligned. ➡️Training is conducted flexibly and arranged privately — not during the posted time.

#### 🌄 Core Topics:

✔️ Rock & Terrain Identification

  • Granite, limestone, slate, sandstone, firn snow, talus, scree
  • Hazards like slippage, breakaway zones, and brittle layers

✔️ Route Ratings & Risk Classifications

  • YDS Classes 1–5
  • Aid Ratings (A0–A6)
  • Ice Routes (WI, AI)
  • Commitment Grades I–VII
  • Risk tags like “R” and “X” explained

✔️ Hazard Awareness

  • Subjective vs. Objective risks
  • Avalanche forecasting basics
  • Movement hazards in storms or on exposed slopes

✔️ Mountain Types & Movement

  • Dome, fold, fault-block, complex mountains
  • Cross-country movement above timberline
  • Storm protocol, shelter timing, route choice under pressure

✔️ Strategic Terrain Decisions

  • Rock stability vs. gear placement
  • When not to trust a slope
  • How mountain structure affects rope safety, belays, and rappels

### 🧰 Who This Is For:

Advanced hikers or climbers preparing for:

  • Class 3+ terrain
  • Vertical features or multi-pitch routes
  • Gear-assisted movement
  • Rope systems and anchor placements
  • Long-range expeditions or private technical climbs

This is not a casual hiking class. You must be in excellent physical condition and mentally steady under pressure.
