COSTS (Prepaid):

An immediate R480 deposit gains you a spot. Deposits are required by 31 March 2023. If you RSVP after 31 March 2023 the full amount of R890 is due. Payment must be paid within 48 hours of your RSVP. If not paid within 48 hours you will be moved to Not Going.

Glen Reenen Rest Camp: 2 nights camping - R320pp
Mahai Campsite: 2 nights camping - R340

Miscellaneous: R30 per person for firewood, charcoal, etc.

Admin fee: R200 per person

Refunds:
A refund (less the R200 admin fee) will be provided ONLY IF a replacement is enrolled. No refunds given within seven (7) days of the event.

05/06h00 - Depart for Witsieshoek & Sentinel Car Park
06/07h30 - Tugela Falls Trail, 12km, moderate (except for chain ladders)
13/14h00 - Return to Glen Reenen Rest Camp
18h00 - Dinner/braai
Friday:
06h00 - Breakfast
07h00 - Wodehouse Trail, 8km, moderate-difficult
13h00 - Decamp
14h00 - Depart for Mahai Campsite
15h00 - Arrive at Mahai Campsite
18h00 - Braai/dinner
Saturday:
06h00 - Breakfast
07h00 - Tugela Gorge Trail, 14km, moderate (to base of Tugela Falls)
18h00 - Dinner/braai
Sunday:
06h00 - Breakfast
07h00 - Gudu Falls Trail, 10km, moderate

ACCOMMODATION (18 PEOPLE MAXIMUM):

Glen Reenen & Mahai Camps:

Each campsite accommodates 6 persons

Both Glen Reenen and Mahai camps have hot water showers; flush toilets.
Each campsite has own braai & tap; rubbish bin; table and bench.

ELECTRICAL POINTS at campsites.

MEALS:

All meals are self-catered. There will be a fires for a braai each evening.

All meals, hiking snacks, water and any other beverages and snacks are for your own account

TRAVEL:
Distance - 355km from Chilli Lane Shopping Centre, Sunninghill
Time - Approx 3.5-4 hours

**** NB - Arrive no later than 18h00 on Friday.

CARPOOLING (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED):

Carpooling is NOT facilitated by the Organiser.

Calculate the vehicle running cost. Multiply the total return distance by the running cost (NOT TOTAL COST), add tolls and divide by number of people in the vehicle to get the individual cost. Distance is calculated from the first pick-up point.

FITNESS:
YOU AND YOUR GUESTS are required to have an intermediate level of fitness for most of the hikes (3.5km/hr or 18min/km over moderate terrain)

INDEMNITY:
YOU AND YOUR GUESTS participating in Weekend Nature & Hiking Getaways activities do so AT THEIR OWN RISK.

The Organisers and Hosts are indemnified from any loss, injury or any incident that prejudices Members and their guests.

Members and their guests must ensure that they have the required hiking gear to comfortably participate in the event.
