# Taipei Solo Travelers & Remote Workers Social + Karaoke 🎤🌏
## Meet People Tonight. Make Plans for Tomorrow.
Traveling solo in Taipei? Working remotely here and realizing you don’t actually know many people yet?
You found the food, the cafés, the night markets and plenty of places to explore.
But when Saturday night comes, there’s still one question:
Who are you going with?
This night is for solo travelers, digital nomads, remote workers, expats, newcomers and friendly locals who want to meet people naturally in Taipei.
👋 Coming alone? That’s completely normal here.
Our local hosts will welcome you and introduce you to people — and some of them first joined Taipei Weekend Social as solo guests themselves.
They know what it feels like to walk in alone and not know anyone, so you won’t have to figure everything out by yourself.
Come meet a few people tonight. Maybe tomorrow, you’ll already have someone to grab food with, explore Taipei with, or message:
“What are you doing tonight?”
📌 First time joining? There’s a FAQ near the bottom.
***
## 🌏 What this night is really about
Taipei is easy to enjoy alone during the day.
But traveling or living here feels very different once you have a few people you can actually message:
“Want to grab dinner?”
“Anyone going out tonight?”
“Want to explore somewhere tomorrow?”
That’s what we hope you leave with.
Not 30 random conversations.
Just a few real connections that can turn into plans after tonight.
Come alone. Leave with plans.
***
## ✨ What happens during the night?
We start downstairs at Tea Bar with drinks, conversations and darts. 🍻🎯
Our hosts help welcome newcomers and introduce people naturally.
Once you’ve met a few people, you can:
🎤 Head upstairs for karaoke
🎯 Play darts together
🛋️ Relax on the sofas and talk
🍻 Stay downstairs and keep meeting people
There’s no pressure to sing.
Karaoke and darts are simply easy ways for people who just met to do something together without forced introductions or awkward icebreakers.
***
## 👥 Who usually joins?
You’ll normally meet a mix of:
✦ Solo travelers visiting Taipei
✦ Digital nomads & remote workers
✦ Expats and newcomers living in Taiwan
✦ International students
✦ Taiwanese locals who enjoy meeting people from around the world
English is commonly used, but you’ll naturally hear Mandarin and other languages too.
🌍 This is an international social night — not a language class.
The goal is simple:
Meet people you may actually want to see again.
***
## ❤️ What makes our meetup different?
There are many meetups where you RSVP, arrive, and then everything is up to you.
We don’t want that experience.
At Taipei Weekend Social, our hosts are there to actually host.
They welcome new guests, introduce people, help someone join a conversation if they’re standing alone, and make the room feel more connected.
Some of our hosts first came to the community as guests themselves.
So they understand both sides:
what it feels like to arrive alone,
and how much easier the night becomes when someone simply says:
“Hey, come meet these people.”
For us, a successful night isn’t just having a full room.
It’s when someone who came alone leaves knowing a few people in Taipei.

## 🏠 Two floors, different ways to connect
### 1F|Drinks, Conversations & Darts 🍻🎯
Start the night downstairs.
Grab a drink, meet people, join a conversation or play a quick game of darts together.
### 2F|Karaoke & Sofas 🎤🛋️
Once you’ve met a few people, head upstairs to sing, listen to music or just hang out together.
Singing is completely optional.
Sometimes the best part isn’t even karaoke — it’s the small group you end up sitting with afterward.
## 🌃 10 PM and still don’t want to go home?
Good.
At around 10:00 PM, guests who still want to continue the night often form a group and head to Maji Square together. 🎶🍻
There are outdoor bars, music, DJs and places to dance.
So when the meetup finishes, you don’t suddenly have to go back to your hotel or start searching Google Maps for somewhere to go alone.
You already have people with you.
Join for one drink, go dancing, grab food afterward, or just keep hanging out with the people you met.
The Maji meetup is optional.
Transportation, drinks and any individual venue entry fees are not included.

# ❓ FAQ
### 👋 I’m traveling alone. Is it really okay to come by myself?
Yes.
In fact, this meetup is especially good for solo guests.
A lot of people arrive without knowing anyone.
Our hosts will welcome you, introduce you to other guests and help you get into your first conversation.
You won’t be expected to walk around introducing yourself to everyone.
***
### 💻 I’m a digital nomad or remote worker. Is this for me?
Absolutely.
Many people working remotely have a strange problem:
You can work from anywhere, but that doesn’t automatically give you a social life.
This is a place to switch off the laptop and meet people outside of work.
***
### 🏠 I live in Taipei. Can I still join?
Of course.
You don’t need to be a traveler.
Expats, newcomers, international students and locals are all welcome.
If you want more people to eat, drink, explore or make weekend plans with, you’ll fit in.
***
### 🗣️ Is this a language exchange?
Not really.
Because the group is international, people naturally speak English, Mandarin and other languages.
But there are no language tables, lessons or structured language practice.
The focus is meeting people and enjoying Saturday night together.
***
### 🎤 Do I have to sing karaoke?
No.
You can sing, play darts or just spend the evening talking.
Karaoke is there because it gives people another fun way to connect.
***
### 🍹 What if I don’t drink alcohol?
No problem.
Tea Bar has alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
Your NT$350 entry includes one drink.
***
### 😅 What if I’m shy?
You’re definitely not the only one.
You don’t need to be outgoing or “good at networking.”
That’s one of the reasons we have hosts.
Show up, say hi, and we’ll help with the first connection.
***
You came to Taipei solo. That doesn’t mean you have to experience it alone. 🌏
Come meet a few people tonight.
Tomorrow, you might already have someone to message.
Karaoke 🎤🌏
💻 Digital nomads、remote workers
Karaoke
Taipei Weekend Social
Maji

Karaoke
Tea Bar
