Winter Solstice - tour of the tombs

We will hike the Horseshoe route near Kilbride firing range.

Leaving Blessington at 9:30am we will car pool to the starting point

500 m ascent

Terrain: road, path, boggy cross country (with peat hags) - proper hiking boots a must!

Pace: Moderate - 3.5 km/hr
(including breaks)

After a walk along the quiet road from the parking point, we will follow the track to the summit of Seahan, and from there, we will cross to the summit of Corrig. After that we will hike to the summit of Seefingan and there we will see a megalithic tomb. From here we will hike over to Seefinn and view the bronze age tomb. We will then descend to a forest track and return to the cars. We can then head back to Blessington on our cars and pop into the West Wicklow for drinks or food.

Waterproof jacket and trousers are needed and proper hiking boots are mandatory. Bring a packed lunch and liquids or water.
