Regardless of whether you're climbing or merely hiking, wear sturdy boots.
We will do a circuit of trails that are Moderate to difficult and includes some rock scrambling. Total distance will be about 4 miles. Sturdy shoes or boots are recommended because of the rock scrambling.
The scenic woodland trail explores ridges and valleys surrounding Deer Creek. Trail provides access to nearby King and Queen Seat rock formation with impressive views of Deer Creek valley below.
Directions to parking- Take I-695 to I-95 North. Take exit 77B, MD 24 north toward Bel Air, and continue through the towns of Bel Air, Rock Spring, and Forest Hill (approx. 13.4 miles) you will see a sign for Rocks State Park. Continue another half mile and you’ll see signs pointing to the park office on the left (you can find trail maps and parking there). Pass this entrance and continue another 0.2 miles to the gravel parking area on the left across from Deer Creek; the trail begins at the edge of the woods in front of the parking area.
