Details
Hi everyone,
On Saturday, let's do this scenic lovely hike, commonly called Whatipu loop, which includes Gibbons track, Muir track and Pararaha valley.
This loop gives hikers a taste of all the best of the Waitakeres. From muddy scrambling on remote and beautifully forested trails to climbs up coastal bluffs with stunning views to the impressive and rugged black sand beaches, this hike has a lot to offer.
Stunning views, well formed tracks and a little time spend walking along the beach.
Hike duration: 5.5 hrs (approx)
Difficulty: Medium, grade 3
Terrain: Mixed. Walking on well formed gravel paths, board walk and hard black sand beach
Distance: approx 15 km
We will meet at the car park at 9.30 am, to promptly start the walk at 9.45 am.

4 pm approx plan to return back to the car park.
What to bring:
Rain and windproof gear. Warm clothes, comfortable hiking boots, change of clothes and shoes to change into after the hike. Water, snacks and lunch. If you need a ride, I suggest $15 to contribute to your driver which must be paid in cash before the start of the hike.
