Greetings everyone,
It's been a while. Let's re-connect and get the goup going by meetin up for an easy to medium walk/hike that is going to be gentle pace, not too slow but with multiple stops along the way and also during our walk stopping at Takapuna Beach Cafe for coffee/drinks, cake/savoury or gelato. We will probably spend at least half an hour at the cafe.
Plan for the day:
We will meet at 10 AM at Hauraki end of Takapuna beach, next to Public toilets. There is on street parking available. Although being weekend, this area does get busy so if you are travelling by car, I suugest to arrive early to find a place to park.
We will then walk on Takapuna beach. Takapuna beach is a mix of sandy and rocky beach. It's not super smooth. We will get to Takapuna beach cafe, our first stop.
After cafe, we will carry on along Takapuna/milford coastal walkway. There are some rocky sections, but nothing too complicated. So the terrain is mixed, some on board walk, some on sandy beach and some distance on rocky terrain.
When we reach Milford beach, we will carry on to walk to Milford beach reserve, cross the Wairau Creek pedestrian bridge, and walk along the streets to get to Kennedy park. There are very picturesque views and great for photo taking and admiring.
A walk from Milford reserve to Kenedy park has steep and muddy sections, so I recommend hiking boots for this walk.
Then we will make our way back to our cars.

- Terrain: Mixed, some on well structured board walk way, sandy beach, and rocky terrain. Residential streets.
- Level: 2 out of 5, based on distance, terrain and time to complete the walk.
Total time allocted for this event is up to 4/4.5 hrs, including stops.
The focus of this event is more on socialising and re-connecting with our members, rather than fitness, although basic fitness is required to complete this walk.
