Let’s Hike Long Pond Woods

Details
Let’s start the hike at the Stubtown Road parking area. This hike is going to be approximately 5 miles and out and back. We will pass by a beautiful ledge that you can take fantastic pictures. We will hike the "Magnificent Mile" Long Pond Woods, offers, arguably, the most challenging hiking of any Audubon Refuge. The 220 acres of rocky and steep terrain harbors dense groves of mountain laurel and rhododendron bursting with flowers in the spring and towering oaks and hemlocks. The view from a rock outcrop high above Long Pond is like no other in the refuge system.
Good hiking shoes/boots, proper hiking attire required. Sufficient hydration and snacks. No dogs please. The pace is moderate and this hike is a tough one but the rewards are worth it . See you Sunday!
