The Tri-town Forest Preserve is a 527-acre Avalonia Land Conservancy property that spans the towns of North Stonington, Griswold, and Preston in CT.
We will be mainly hiking along the Blue outer loop, considered the most challenging trail on the property. It is 5+ miles with nearly 1000' of elevation change. Of note, the blue loop features challenging terrain changes with occasional switchbacks, multiple stream crossings, stonewalls, glacial erratics, vistas, and ledges. The trails here can be very rocky and have many tree roots. Trekking poles are recommended for those who use them.
