Carbuncle-Oneco Hike
Details
Hello, fellow hikers! Seems like the perfect time to clear out any recent negative vibes by going for a nice long walk in the woods. (note that this hike is scheduled for the 29th, not the 22nd). Who's in?
The hike will start at the Carbuncle Pond parking lot in Coventry. We'll walk a mix of trails, dirt roads, and old railroad beds, going through the Nicholas Farm Management Area, across the CT border into Pachaug State Forest, and back via the Trestle Trail. If anyone has time after the hike, we can take a 5-minute walk from the parking lot over to Spencer Rock, which is a nice little waterfall on the Moosup River.
The total walk is around 7.5-8 miles, and it will be held rain or shine, unless the rain is forecast to be really significant.
Proper hiking attire, sufficient water, and bug spray are required. No need for fluorescent orange, unless you just happen to like the color.
