Hiking Through Grief
Details
Hiking Through Grief is an informal support group for adults (18+) who have experienced the death of a friend or family member, and those who support them. Our hikes are casual, fun and relaxing. Hikers are encouraged, but not required, to share their stories and insights. All are welcome, whether your friend or family member passed away a week, a month, a year ago, or during your childhood.
This month, we will be hiking the George Miller Trail located between Port Costa and Martinez. This paved trail is a favorite for its views of the working waterfront and the scenic shoreline of the Carquinez Strait. Park at the Port Costa Staging Area and access the out and-back trail via a short walk along the shoulder of Carquinez Scenic Drive. We will meet at Carquinez Scenic Drive and hike 2-3 hours. Bring a lunch or snack for our break near the halfway point. This trail is kid and animal friendly. We will leave promptly at 10am in order to complete the hike on time. We hope you join us! If you need specific directions from your location to the meetup point, feel free to give us a call at (925) 887-5678
