Indigenous Signs in the Landscape - Whiting Ranch Trail

Details

While there is a 5.9-mile moderate loop trail at Whiting Ranch, we may limit it to 1 mile out and back making it 2 miles total. This portion is easy to moderate.

We will meet near the parking lot (NE of intersection between Bake Parkway and Alton Parkway) off of Portola Parkway in Foothill Ranch adjacent the trail head. The path is dirt and has very little terrain. Comfortable sport shoes are acceptable. An extended walk in the park might sum it up.

I look forward to seeing all of our hikers there to kick off the season. This is about as easy as it will get but get you warmed up for all the adventure that is ahead. We likely will also take a stroll across Portola to take a look at Saddleback Mountains after the hike.

NO DOGS ALLOWED, on this hike. There are mountain lions to be seen in this area. We likely will not see any so close to the homes, but dogs are restricted, either way. Please leave Fido home, this time. All pets are to be cleaned up after on our hikes, if you do not mind.
