Madera Canyon Nature Trail (advanced beginner)

Details
CARPOOLING INFO: we will meet at the Safeway parking lot at Silverbell and Grant. We will leave the carpooling site at 6am. We will meet at the Whitehouse picnic area in madera Canyon at 7am.
The Madera Canyon Nature Trail is a nice hike going up the riparian area for the first part and then climbing along the hillside in the pine oak forest for the second part. Depending on where you start this hike it can be anywhere from 4 miles to 10 miles round-trip. We are starting in the middle at the Madera Canyon picnic area which is a bit higher up but we still get to hike through some gorgeous riparian habitat. We will be going all the way up to the picnic area at the round up at the end of the Madera Canyon Road. There we will take a snack break before heading back down the way we came.
Round-trip the mileage is going to be about 5.5- 6 miles with a total elevation gain of about 650 feet.
Please bring at least 2 L of water, where sun protection and wear appropriate hiking footwear. I always recommend using hiking poles, and bring a snack if you want to.
Dogs, fire arms, playing music and tobacco/vaping products are not permitted.
By RSVPing “Yes” to this event you are agreeing not to hold the organizer/event leader liable for any injury, death or personal property loss or damage both during the event and in transit to and from the event.
