Alamo Springs-Wild Burro trail loop: Intermediate/Advanced hike
Details
The Alamo Springs trail in my opinion the most lovely and interesting of the trails in the Tortilitas. We will meet at the Wild Burro trailhead and hike up the sandy wash about 0.6 mi until the trail intersection where Alamo Springs trail starts. From there we are going hike 4.1 mi and climb an accumulated elevation gain of 1400ft. We will view a hidden valley that is undeveloped and a really neat natural rock wall. We will eat lunch at the intersection of upper intersection of the Wild Burro and Alamo Springs trail. There is an old, dry well and a natural rock damm there that has great views. From there we will go down Wild Burro trail back to the parking lot.
This is not a beginner hike! This is a longer hike and we will be climbing uphill a lot.
Total length of the hike will be 7.3 mi. The terrain is rocky so bring your hiking poles. Map of the trails at Dove Mountain is at https://static1.squarespace.com/static/54cc191ce4b0f886f4762582/t/5c52362503ce641bb20160bc/1548891686440/trailmap_web.pdf
