High Cup Nick from Dufton.

A 13 (ish) mile hike to the spectacular High Cup Nick starting and ending in the pretty Cumbrian village of Dufton. If you've not seen High Cup Nick before you're in for a visual treat. If you have been before, well the same. I never tire of it. We'll start in Dufton ( plenty of parking roadside usually and there is an official car park also) and head steadily uphill for 4 miles or so till reaching High Cup Nick via Hannahs Well. Our starting time of 11:00 am is so as to arrive at High Cup Nick at an appropriate time for lunch. After lunch, for the trig point enthusiasts, we'll head off to climb Murton Pike ( at 594 metres) and then descend to Murton village and back to Dufton via Flakebridge Wood. There's a canny pub in Dutton though it's a bit small !

Dogs welcome on the walk though if we encounter any livestock please, please have her / him on a leash for the duration of the encounter.
