About us

I want this group to be about doing some hiking, taking walks around town, and then afterward have a place to gather and get drinks. The theme will be to walk for about 1.5 hours and then have drinks afterward. I plan on having hikes around various places like the greenbelt and other random sites. This group is not for hardcore hikers, but for people who want to walk a bit and meet new people. I typically schedule about 6 to 7 events a month and sometimes more.

This group does cost me money to run. So donations are always welcome. If you are interested in being an event organizer let me know.

East Brushy Creek Regional Trail (Rabb House)

Let's walk eastward on the Brushy Creek Regional trail that starts in Round Rock at the outer parking lot for the Rabb House and backtrack after 2 miles for a total of about 4 miles. We will meet at the Rabb House outer parking lot. Since the path is 100% paved, light trail shoes are OK, but bring a flashlight and water since the path is only partially shaded and there are no water fountains available.

Finally, we recommend that you review information on the trail and that you come prepared for the hike (e.g., bring at least two liters of water, wear appropriate footwear, and a brimmed hat.)

Lakeline Loop Night hike

Let's meet at Lakeline Park for a night hike where we will walk about 3.0 miles. Since it is night please bring a flashlight. The trail is paved so street shoes will be fine for the trek. Please note that we will be meeting at The Mobile Kayak rentals (GPS coordinates 30°29′13″ N 97°48′54″ W) for which I will post a picture.

Let's have a singles mingle at Walter's Tavern which is a sports bar. Walter's Tavern is a historical Victorian house built in 1876 and was moved to its current location in the 70's.

The name pays homage to Walter Tips, the original owner of the home, whose legacy lives on within these walls. Rumor has it the house may even be haunted—but we’ll let you decide for yourself.

Inside and out, Walter’s is designed for gathering. Enjoy a large outdoor LED screen, multiple TVs throughout the space, and a hand-crafted wood bar that serves as the heart of the tavern.

This is going to be a relaxed and friendly event to meet other singles. As always I’ll bring name tags. If you can’t find me, just give me a call or text at 512-922-2006. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
