Hike Indiangrass Trail

Let's go and hike the Indiangrass trail, which is East of Marble Falls. This trail is in the hill country, so it has hills and also, as in the name, has some grassland you can go through. We will walk to the top of the hill, which provides a good view. For more information on this trail, click below:

We will hike approximately 3.3 miles and for about two hours. Dogs are not allowed on this trail.

Be prepared for the hike. I recommend at least three liters of water, wearing hiking boots, and a wide-brimmed hat along with sunscreen. Having sun protection is essential on this trail since there is little shade. The trail difficulty is a hard moderate since you have to walk up a hill for about 500 yards.

Here are the directions from the net to get there:

From Austin, head north on US 183 to Cedar Park. Turn left onto FM 1431 and continue through Jonestown and Lago Vista. Turn right onto FM 1174 and head north for 5.6 miles. The entrance to the preserve will be on the right.
