Hike #6 in the 2024 Saturday in the Santa Monica Mountains series, will be an adventurous 9-mile, 2300’ gain loop hike, taking the Mountaineer’s Route to the 360 panoramic view at Topanga Lookout (2469’) from Stunt Road. with a stop at Saddle Peak (2805’) with ocean views and lunch with return via the Stunt High Trail.

Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and a good attitude. Rain, excessive heat, or Red Flag alert cancels. Poles could be useful on some portions of this route and long pants and long sleeve shirt recommended.

Meet at 8:00 AM at the Calabasas Peak Trailhead 1698 Stunt Road (101 to Las Virgenes south 3.2 miles, or PCH to Malibu Canyon, north 7.5 miles Las Virgenes Road, east on Mulholland, 4 miles to left on Stunt Rd, 1 mile to parking). Park free in dirt lot on right side of road.

In going on a Sierra Club outing you are potentially on a trip with unvaccinated individuals. It is your choice to attend knowing this information. The leader can not reveal the status of participants vaccination or reject a participant based on their status. You are welcome to wear a mask if that makes you comfortable. If someone is sick or experiencing any COVID symptoms, they should not attend the outing. Participants are responsible for contacting the leader to report a positive COVID test.
